Mid Dream-Mike Sempert
They say you're not supposed to change horses in mid-dream
But I'm not sure just what I'm supposed to believe
And so I ride and ride and ride into the sun
And sometimes I feel alright when I'm under the gun
They say you're not supposed to change horses in mid-dream
But some people tell me that my pony is losing steam
and so we ride and ride and ride into the sun
And I'll let the horse decide when the race is run
Well out in the dust and rain in the plains of my mind
My head is empty, but my hopes are high
And I see a tower floating in the sky
All these waves of power are just clouds drifting
They say you're not supposed to change you're mind when you're on a string
But when I'm falling down all I see is the walls
But I know there's a river running through this ravine
So I believe I'll keep my horse for the next thing
Yeah and so I'll surrender to what's carried me so far
While the dream's unfolding, rolling under the stars
And so I ride and ride and ride 'til the night is done
And somewhere along the way, I'll hear you
They say you're not supposed to change horses in mid-dream
But the cold water never bothered me
And so I ride and ride and ride and ride
Who gets across this river of dreams?
