I got a letter from my friend across the water
Really turned my lights back on
“I’m writing to you,” he said,
“from the highest mountain that I’ve ever been up on.
I remember when we spent that year together,
winds had never felt as strong.
You told me to tell when I felt that way again,
so here it is one letter long.”

I read his letter and I thought about my life here

I always think about the times when I could travel,
choosing as I went along.
It gets much harder as the rooting’s getting stronger
more belongings, more stacked on.
I just can’t forget to take the time I need to wander
mind and body can’t be wrong.
Running around, flying around, break the ground,
find new people town after town.
Free up the mind, take on new style, making time,
do it while you’re still feeling fine.
