Gasoline Rainbows
Amy Kuney
Wherever the rain goes
It leaves gasoline rainbows
On the water it looks beautiful
But tragic when the waves have parted
If we disappear
Who gets the souvenir
Or sees the outline of the tree that won't be there
Once the machines have started
I don't want to wait
I don't want to sit and hope
I don't want to tell you
Don't want to tell you
Tell you I told you so
So prove me wrong
And don't just let it go
I don't want to watch
So I can tell you,
Tell you I told you so
Tell you I told you so
It was a chemical
It was magical
And when it hit the light
It pleased the eyes
Who knew it could be so fatal
Yesterday
Is miles away
We took a picture to remind us
That today we are caught in the middle
I don't want to wait
I don't want to sit and hope
I don't want to tell you
Don't want to tell you
Tell you I told you so
So prove me wrong
And don't just let it go
I don't want to watch
So I can tell you,
Tell you I told you so
Tell you I told you so
I don't want to wait
I don't want to sit and hope
I don't want to tell you
Don't want to tell you
Tell you I told you so
So prove me wrong
And don't just let it go
I don't want to watch
So I can tell you,
Tell you I told you so
No gonna wait
No gonna sit and hope
No gonna tell you
No gonna tell you
Tell you I told you so
So prove me wrong
And don't just let it go
No gonna tell you
No gonna tell you
Tell you I told you so
I don't want to wait
I don't want to sit and hope
Don't want to tell you
Don't want to tell you
Tell you I told you so
